This is the most popular and best-known sailing route in Poland. In a straight line it runs about 111 km, but with side branches you can extend it considerably. It links more than 20 lakes, including Nidzkie, Beldany, Mikolajskie, Talty, Sniardwy and Mamry, tied together by canals and locks into one continuous system.
The most sailed stretch is Gizycko to Mikolajki, with stops in harbours and along wild shores. A more intimate route runs north, from Gizycko to Wegorzewo. The Gulf of Gdansk and the Baltic
If you want a taste of the sea, the Gulf of Gdansk is the best place to start. It is sheltered water, with harbours close together: Gdansk, Sopot, Gdynia and Gorki Zachodnie. You can sail along the shore, taking in the beaches and the pier, or head out to the Hel Peninsula. It is a step up from the lakes, because you add waves, wind and the rules of maritime traffic, but still in safe, well-marked conditions.

The Great Loop of Greater Poland and the Notec
For those who prefer calm inland cruising, the Great Loop of Greater Poland is an interesting alternative: a marked waterway about 688 km long, linking the Notec, the Warta and a network of canals and lakes into a closed ring. It is a route for houseboats and motorboats, with a lazy pace, locks and views you will not find on crowded lakes.
